Guelph Poetry Slam
The Guelph Poetry Slam (GPS) – 3rd Saturday of every month, @ the E-Bar|
A poetry slam is an interactive spoken-word poetry competition. Poets have 3 minutes to deliver their poem (with a 10 second grace period) and are judged by randomly selected members of the audience. SLAMs encourage audience participation – including cheering, booing, and even bribing of the judges to sway their point allotment. Each month the poetry slam winner receives a $100.00 cash prize. GPS also features an open-mic and a professional spoken word artist each month. Anyone can sign-up to perform the night of. See a complete list of slam rules.
